Świdnica is one of the most dynamically developing towns in Poland. The development of entrepreneurship is based on merchants’ traditions of the town, a strong group of local entrepreneurs and spectacular external investments.
Since April 2004 there has been a subzone of the Wałbrzych Special Economic Zone “Invest – Park” in the town. It occupies nearly 150 ha of the area where investors from Europe, America and Asia located several investments of a production nature. External investments and investments of native companies confirm the position of the town as an investor – friendly place, thus encouraging other entrepreneurs to locate their businesses in Świdnica. Yet, they positively influence cooperation among investors and local companies. WSEZ “Invest – Park” was established based on the Council of Ministers Ordinance for a period of 20 years and will be operating until 31 December 2026. During this period entrepreneurs investing in the area of WSEZ may be granted:
- A public aid on account of costs of a new investment
- A public aid on account of creating new workplaces

In Świdnica there functions the subzone of the Wałbrzych Special Economic Zone „INVEST-PARK” . As a result each entrepreneur investing in Świdnica is provided with the possibility to run business activity in a specifically prepared area with full access to technical infrastructure and is also provided with the possibility to be exempted from income tax.

An average monthly remuneration in the District of Świdnica is several percent lower compared to the Lower Silesia Voivodship and Poland.
For over the century Świdnica has been a thriving industrial centre. Industrial traditions and education system ensure the education on vocational, secondary and high levels, mainly in technical field. It constitutes a perfect source of well – qualified employees distinguished by high qualifications and rich experience. The proximity of two biggest university centres in Poland gives an opportunity to learn from the highest quality technical staff and ensures a constant cooperation with scientific circles when developing R-D programmes in Świdnica’s companies. The majority of people in Świdnica with university degrees graduated from universities in Wrocław, Poznań and Wałbrzych. There is High School of Information Technologies, as well as numerous branches of private universities in Świdnica (e.g. High School of Social Prevention and Therapy, Social High School of Entrepreneurship and Management).
Świdnica’s secondary schools each year see about 2 000 graduates entering the labour market. The above data show that the greatest number of people (40 % of the whole population) are people with high and secondary education.
